Guardian of Paris
Out of all the many views around the city of Paris, this viewpoint is easily my favorite. I've always been fascinated with the gargoyles that sit at the top of Notre Dame. After climbing all 387 steps to reach the top of the ancient cathedral which is almost 900 years old, I couldn't help but think of all the history that has passed through the walls of the building. The view was simply amazing with so many gargoyles to choose from to include in my photo. I chose this fella because he was farthest away from the security chasing tripod users away.
The Eiffel tower sits to the left of the center of the photo and La Défense (Downtown Paris) sits a little to the right off center. By the time the entire sky had changed over into blue hour, security had already chased me away so I was happy to walk away with a good shot.
